Here are a few items from the wonderful world of oil; The weak US dollar, tight production and threats to that production helped pushed the September contract for benchmark US light, sweet crude to $143.99/bbl. "With the abysmal year-to-date performance of the broader market indices combined with the weakening US dollar, investors continued to put their money to work in commodities last week, driving natural gas and oil higher," said analysts in the Houston office of Raymond James & Associates

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah told oil consumers Tuesday that they should get used to high prices and not blame the country for the spike in the price of crude, the Agence France-Presse news agency reported.
